The relationship between His Holiness Jagadguru Śrī Candraśekhara Bhāratī Mahāsvāmin and His Disciple Jagadguru Śrī Abhinava Vidyātīrtha Mahāsvāmin was truly unique. The Disciple served His Guru with unwavering devotion and flawless dedication for over two decades.
His Holiness Jagadguru Śrī Candraśekhara Bhāratī Mahāsvāmin’s love and regard for His Disciple were equally profound. In 1936, the Guru referred to the Disciple’s extraordinary vision of Lord Śiva, and His enlightenment and establishment in Brahman, and told Him, “I know that you are God Himself and ever perfect. Your engaging in sādhanā and apparently attaining enlightenment were only a part of your divine sport.”
He even composed eight verses about His Disciple. The first of these was composed by the Guru in Bengaluru on 25 July 1937. He wrote the other seven verses on His Disciple as a set, in 1943. When giving them to His Disciple, He said about the first verse – this is the first verse presented in this audio-visual presentation – ‘I have written only what I definitely know to be true about you. There is no exaggerated praise here.’
The Centre for Brahmavidya is privileged to publish this Audio-Visual presentation of a set of five verses of His Holiness Jagadguru Śrī Candraśekhara Bhāratī Mahāsvāmin on 6 December 2025, on the holy occasion of the Sākṣātkāra (Enlightenment) Day of His Holiness Jagadguru Śrī Abhinava Vidyātīrtha Mahāsvāmin.
