Shri Chitsukhacharya ji on ‘Hari-Hara abheda’
============================

See images in this link.

Shri Chitsukhacharya is well known in the Advaita Sampradaya for his work ‘Tattva-pradipika’ (also known as ‘Chitsukhi’.). He has also authored  ‘ Bhashya-bhava-prakashika’ - a commentary on Sutra-bhashya of Bhagavatpada  and ‘Bhava-tattva-prakashika’ - a commentary on Naishkarmya siddhi of Shri Sureshvaracharya.

Shri Chitsukhacharya seems to have Bhagavan Nrusimha as his Ishta-devata, who is invoked in the mangalacharana verses of his works. Looking at these verses, a few men try to claim that he was a ‘Vaishnava’ and so were all the early Advaita-acharyas. To their great dismay, Chitsukhacharya ji also invokes Bhagavan Dakshinamurthi !

Please peruse the attached images from Chitsukhacharya ji’s works.

After going through the attached verses, the following can be understood :

1.  Chitsukhacharya ji beholds Bhagavan Nrusimha as ‘Sacchidananda’ and ‘Swaprakasha-Chidatma’. Thus, Nrusimha is identified as Parabrahman.

2.  Bhagavan Dakshinamurthi is also described as ‘Jyotih’, ‘Satyananda-pada’ , suggesting that Bhagavan Dakshinamurthi is Parabrahman.

3.  Further, Chitsukhacharya says that the Jyotih that is verily Dakshinamurthi is also Vyasa, Bhagavatpada and his own guru Shri Jnanottamacharya. Thus, as has been the tradition in Advaita,  the Guru tattva is worshipped here as sakshat Shiva, as the Parabrahman itself. In this context, we are reminded of the following words from Bhagavan Vartikakara’s Manasollasa:

ईश्वरो गुरुरात्मेति मूर्तिभेदविभागिने |
व्योमवद् व्याप्तदेहाय दक्षिणामूर्तये नमः ‖

Thus, Chitsukhacharya ji sees the same Chaitanya in Hari and Hara. Also, the abheda between Nrusimha, Dakshinamurhthi and the Guru-tattva is clearly established.
