At the link below, for your kind review and comments is a draft of my book on Karma Yoga. It explains all the verses of the Gita on this topic exhaustively, focusing on application to householders, professionals, leaders. Parallel passages from other scriptures are also collected. If the link does not work (it allows 100 downloads), please let me know
The book is long and complex - so please read chapter 0.0 ("How to Read this Book") first. Here's a summary-
· The Beginner or lay reader should skim through and focus on stories and illustrations that illuminate different aspects of Karma Yoga. Also use ‘Karma Yoga Checklist’ (Section 5.4) for reference. Biographies in Appendix will be helpful as well.
· The Intermediate reader may skip chapters 1-4 and 13 and read the rest of the book, focusing on the core chapters 8-12. Again, the Karma Yoga Checklist will be useful.
· The Advanced Reader, who is familiar with various Darshanas, can read the entire book while keeping on mind that chapters 8-12 are vital to understanding the practice of Karma Yoga. Chapters 2-3 can be quite daunting to the reader who is not at home with Hindu Darshana Shāstras.
We all learn through illustrations and stories. To make the book suitable for self-study, pravachan or satsang, I have added stories, illustrations from traditional sources after several sections.
For obvious reasons, readers will have differing interpretations and will disagree with my specific choices from among the many possible. I am open to corrections and suggestions. I'd be happy to share the Word Document if you want to correct/annotate and send it back to me. Like my other books, this one too presents and insider/practitioner perspective on Karma Yoga, and outsider views are ignored.
Feel free to share it with others. The book originated as a self-study exercise, for the benefit of my own ātmā. Any suggestions for improvement or corrections are most welcome. I lay this work at the feet of my elders and teachers.
