Namaskaram,

I got this in whatsapp and forwarded to others with below thoughts.

Looking at the gold on MahaVishnu, I am both amazed and aghast with wonder and trepidation, in human terms: how glorious He looks and yet how heavy a burden He seems to carry upon Him, how covered and unfree!

But the fact to the contrary is also what His display here symbolises: in spite of all the bondage that appears on Him, as the objects of this universe, almost as if He is tied by it all,

In truth He (the Atma) is unconditioned and free, and yet appears with Mahalakshmi His consort/power/shakti that is Maya, as the One who sports/displays this play of many, of glimmer and gold, of dirt and darkness, though Himself ever untouched and unchanged and always poornam. That is the wonder and Greatness of the Lord who is our antaryami and ultimately our reality/Self!

“But the fact to the contrary is also what His display here symbolises”

The also should be removed to avoid thinking both (bondage and freedom) are true. Or it should be understood as I meant initially: in addition to other positive/saguna connotations of Ishvara that may be derived from seeing this Moorthy.
