The Adhyāropa-Apavāda Nyāya is very well known to Vedantins. Shankaracharya mentions this Nyāya as the one adapted by the knowers of the (Vedantic) tradition: Shankara cites a line from an earlier Vedāntin's work in the BGB 13.13:
तथा हि सम्प्रदायविदां वचनम् — ‘अध्यारोपापवादाभ्यां निष्प्रपञ्चं प्रपञ्च्यते’ (?) इति ।
This line is there in the Uttaragītā bhāṣya (attributed to Gaudapādāchārya) as a prelude to the verse 1.7: — ‘अध्यारोपापवादाभ्यां निष्प्रपञ्चं प्रपञ्च्यते’ ( ? ) इति ।। UG 2.45 manaso hyamanī bhāva also in Mānḍukya Kārikā.
