Can we stop arguing about who is and who is not self realised or enlightened

The person cannot be enlightened or self realised

Why are we adding such meaning all the time

We are all just "         "

End of argument

Don't know about we,Mark.But I reckon maybe you can if you're a
wantin' to.

I'm just thankful Gary has the good sense to not allow RS to post here
in AN. Any arguments 'bout that?

And,by the way...the person cannot be enlightened?
Which person you talking 'bout?

:)

Have to say that I second that emotion about Gary's discernment, or
perhaps some haven't simply haven't found their way over here yet.

Isn't it the cosmic joke that the person can become enlightened, with
the realizaton that they are not merely a person?

Never really liked the word enlightenment much. There are so many
things one can become enlightened about, but the term self-realization
seems much more a propos. Only one Self to realize.

Needless insult and shameless self aggrandizement certainly aren't
signs of realization.
If one is self-realized, there is the recognition that insult and
injury are only to one's self.

People can babble on endlessly about spiritual concepts. There comes a
time when the concepts must be set aside and one must reflect and
investigate introspectively to arrive at non-conceptual insight and
wordless conclusion.

Now, Sean Connery as 007, that was one enlightened cat.

Ram:

The quality of your posts have always been high, but you have really
been on a roll since you decided not to post on AN. I hope you keep
not-posting.. I've enjoyed, learned and will take your advice. Good
not seeing you again.

and thanks again for the updates regarding Richard.
