latest install - next steps

i had put this project down for a while and just tried to re-install
this process is much easier now (still had to change the source bit to
{})
i was really pleased how quickly i got the cms tool up and running

now that the basics are running and i can create pages, im not sure
what to do next
the intended use is to have a search box to search the pages and
entries
and possibly the ability to create small database tables within the
sections
im not sure which engines are installed by default...all of the ones
in the adva-cms2 directory?

i wouldnt mind adding some of my own functionality
i guess im looking for some tips on how best to do that
