Hi,
I'm new to MATLAB/SIULINK and ADVISOR

I need to simulate an electric vehicle with a battery plus supercapacitor pack connected in parallel.

Used the custom option in Drive train configuration box of the ADVISOR GUI.
I automatically get  Load File as 'Custom_Defaults_in'   which has an IC engine and I need a motor and two energy storage systems.
The program will not allow me to add a load file.

Therefore I copied and saved the original Custom_Defaults file in a seperate doc and edited it. to include two energy storage systems and a motor by looking at other load files available.

I  can now tick boxes for two ess . However, I do not get any reading and graphs are blank.

Please help.

Unfortunately, ADVISOR as it ships does not have the functionality to simulate two energy storage systems at once.

Although it is technically possible to do this using the "lib reorg" Simulink blocks, that is a highly technical process and I cannot recommend it.

My advice would be to use the standard ADVISOR GUI (i.e., don't use custom) and change the battery profiles to "emulate" a supercapacitor/battery system and use ADVISOR to bound the problem or give you a quick overview estimate. If you need more detail than that, a different tool may be needed.

Hope that helps,

Michael

Hi,
Is this still the case as of now? or does ADVISOR now have the functionality to simulate two energy storage systems (supercapacitor and battery) at once?

Please help.
