To the left of the gate is Hugo on a ladder, bounce on the seat next to him to jump up on top of the bookshelf and grab the Wishstone. Go around the corner and over to where Mags is, push the bookshelf to the left to find a Present. Now drop down to Flynn and on the right you can bounce on another chair in the middle of a gap, this one will bounce you up really high so you can reach the Epic Chest 2/6 high above where Flynn is standing. Push the bookshelf behind Flynn to find an Epic Chest 3/6 with a Live Wire Lock puzzle locking it. Idea for this one is to first press the green buttons to turn off all the fans so you can reach the lightning bolts in peace.
Enter the book to begin playing this side-scrolling section. Move to the right and jump up the steps onto a glowing light, this is a bounce pad that'll bounce you upwards. Bounce across a few more gaps and you'll reach a section with a platform that turns over. You should also be able to see a line of coins going down, that's a hint to follow them down where you can find a Present. Bounce back up and cross over the flipping platform to get to some crates, smash the first one to be able to use the bounce pad beneath it and meet up with the first enemies of the level - a Pain Glass.
These glass enemies can be easily defeated by bouncing on their heads a few times. Nothing below the next flipping platform just jump over it and you'll meet two more Pain Glasses, defeat them then jump over two flipping platforms in a go, the platform slightly judders before it flips to help you avoid falling off. There's a bounce pad now, if you jump up to the left onto some flipping platforms in the air you can reach a Present. Jump back down to take out another Pain Glass and his accompanying Water Spell Punk (you can jump on the Spell Punk's head too).
Over some more platforms is another pair of Pain Glass enemies but they are being helped by a nearby Life Spell Punk who is healing them, you may wish to bounce over to defeat him first. Another line of coins can be seen going down, follow it down to the left and behind some crates open up Epic Chest 5/6. Bounce back up and take down another two Pain Glasses who are this time backed up by a Life Spell Punk and a Water Spell Punk firing balls of ice at you. Not far now to the end of the book.
6) Evil genius Andrew has managed to figure out a way around the aforementioned Charmed Ridge seed puzzle, or at least the end of it, which is a real stumper for most people: "For the final challenge (to get to the goose), I ignored the first two seed plots. Went straight to the one by the goose's ledge. You stand by the plot, and spit out the seed aiming just short of the center of the plot. The seed will hit the ground, bounce to the center of the plot and start growing. The bounce is the critical bit - it gives Spyro a short delay to jump on top of the growing mushroom! It took me a few goes to time it right, but the mushroom can grow under Spyro. Don't be too hasty to jump off again, wait until the mushroom bounces you up, then glide to the goose."
Lets first get the remaster specific issues out of the way. The long download time for Spyro 2 and 3 is annoying considering all three games should have just come on the disc, at least if you are buying a physical copy. A lot of people have described and shown frame-rate and audio issues, however I only encountered frame-rate issues in Enter the Dragon. It was definitely still annoying but less so then for some others. The vast majority of the re-designs were great upgrades especially the major character re-designs, but a few of the minor characters lose a bit of that edgy charm, especially with the voice acting. That being said the improvement to Sheila, Elora, and Hunter alone far outweigh the downgrades. The biggest area of improvement is just the level of detail in the environments and character animations. The way Spyro's body moves as he flies, how enemies bounce off walls and each other, the beautiful lighting and fire effects, every single part of the game is a visual treat. Its definitely a more than competent remaster, even with the performance issues.
Spyro 2: Ripto's RageRipto's Rage takes the solid foundation laid by Spyro 1 and greatly improves upon it. Starting with the story, which is made more engaging with a more present villain and a pleasant cast of side characters. Elora, Hunter, and the Professor help flesh out the cast and give Spyro people to bounce snappy lines off of, and Ripto's snivelling menace and consistent rage towards Spyro give the player more of a reason to take him down. Spyro 2 also replicated the parts of the collecathon Banjo-Kazooie had perfected a few years earlier, to great success. By replacing the dragons with orbs, and tying them to specific challenges, it makes the gems rewards for exploration, and the orbs rewards for players honing their skills, whether that be in combat flight or puzzle solving. They also give Spyro new powers to be unlocked over the course of the game, giving the player an excuse to revisit worlds and approach these challenges with their new tools. Of course the new design does come with one caveat, since the orbs give specific challenges, a couple of the orb challenges are a bit poorly designed (looking at you Escort the Alchemist). However, the vast majority are a blast and very fun to play, and much more memorable then, "that one dragon I picked up in the lava level." Couple all of this with a great final boss and Spyro 2 is one of my favorite 3D platformers.

So those installed numbers are looking good for Activision at the start of 2012, when the company is going to bounce back from a quiet year. It's speculative, but there could be a Sledgehammer produced Call of Duty title released in the same year as the regular annual update (Black Ops 2?), along with something from the big Bungie deal. And who's to say it's not the right time to bring back the Hero brand (will the Dance Hero project ever be made official?).
