Digital Microscope cameras and USB microscope cameras use optics and a compact digital camera to show larger views of specimens on your monitor and are able to capture images. Both come with software to use for performing advanced tasks such as recording video, adjusting images, editing video footage, the ability to analyze 3-D samples, take measurements, and create reports.
Digital Microscope Cameras and USB Microscope cameras are easy to install and use. Simply remove the standard optical eyepiece from your microscope and plug in the digital microscope camera/USB microscope camera. Most, if not all, are designed using the C-mount standard, the camera and come with a reduction lens and at least two other sizing adapters. They come in sets that come with USB cords and software making it easy to upgrade a standard microscope. Kits come in many varieties with as many or as little extras as you seek.
Regretfully, I have no experience with Amscope cameras. You could try contacting the author of the Amscope device adapter MaheshKumar Reddy Kakuturu who is/was with Angstrom Science in 2016), or you could ask Amscope for support (it would be nice if they were interested in their cameras working under micro-Manager).
Sorry to hijack this thread, but I seem to be having the exact same issues as Ricardo did (my AmScope Camera is an MU1000 which seems to have the same driver/software from their end), and while I have downloaded the drivers from the link you and micro-manager recommended and the camera seems to be working perfectly well in the AmScope software, it still refuses to be available on the Hardware Configuration Wizard for MM.
In System Report under USB section I see the USB 3.0 Camera attached. But in Photo Booth app the camera does not show. Also, the AMScope software(very bad) shows the camera attached but it is not showing. If I try to start a record sessions it replies "Failed to start record." If I unplug camera the software states camera unplugged, so it knows it is there.
Windows and MacOS 12.4 are different operating systems. It's unfortunate the camera manufacturer tech support is unhelpful, but they are who you need to get help from. If you can't and you can return the camera return it and buy something which is specifically engineered to work correctly with Monterey.
AmScope's MD series digital eyepiece cameras are lightweight and compact, making them perfect companions to any microscope. Another huge benefit is their ability to be used with popular video conferencing apps just like a webcam. They use UVC protocol, making them plug-and-play compatible on most platforms, including Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. Whether remote-streaming a QC line or participating in an online class, the MD series digital eyepiece can connect you to the world.
The MD100 is an ultra-compact 1MP USB digital microscope camera, ideally suited as an eyepiece camera. By itself, it will fit 23mm ocular or photo ports. Using the USB interface for both connectivity and power, only a single cable is needed.
With software available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, this camera package is a multi-platform imaging solution. The included Windows software offers image-development and measurement tools, as well as advanced compositing features such as image-stitching and extended depth of focus. With the ability to calibrate scales at multiple magnifications, the software can be used for multi-level inspection. Independent preview and capture resolutions allow you to view high-speed video while simultaneously capturing high-definition images. For Mac and Linux, there is a lite version of the software that can capture video and still images and includes limited processing features.
Includes a precise stage micrometer used to calibrate your microscope or microscope camera for precise measurement. It comes with a 1mm total length that is subdivided into 100 divisions. That is, each division is 0.01mm.

This 10MP digital camera for microscopes is designed to capture still images, as well as stream and record live video on Windows, Mac, and Linux computers. The user-friendly, stand-alone software for Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10 offers advanced features, including stitching, EDF (Extended Depth of Focus), video-recording, and measurement functions. It allows you to make notes, shapes, watermarks, and precise measurements with ease. Preview and capture resolutions can be set independently, allowing you to simultaneously view high-speed, low-resolution live video, while capturing higher-resolution images or video. The software for Linux and Mac allow you to capture still images and record video, as well as control color and exposure.
Designed using the C-mount standard, the camera with the included reduction lens and two sizing-adapters can fit 23mm, 30mm, and 30.5mm photo ports and ocular ports. The reduction lens increases the field-of-view to better match what's seen through the eyepieces. Using a standard USB 2.0 connection, the camera is easy to install. Drawing power from the USB connection, no additional connections are needed.
