Digital Microscope cameras and USB microscope cameras use optics and a compact digital camera to show larger views of specimens on your monitor and are able to capture images. Both come with software to use for performing advanced tasks such as recording video, adjusting images, editing video footage, the ability to analyze 3-D samples, take measurements, and create reports.
Digital Microscope Cameras and USB Microscope cameras are easy to install and use. Simply remove the standard optical eyepiece from your microscope and plug in the digital microscope camera/USB microscope camera. Most, if not all, are designed using the C-mount standard, the camera and come with a reduction lens and at least two other sizing adapters. They come in sets that come with USB cords and software making it easy to upgrade a standard microscope. Kits come in many varieties with as many or as little extras as you seek.
Regretfully, I have no experience with Amscope cameras. You could try contacting the author of the Amscope device adapter MaheshKumar Reddy Kakuturu who is/was with Angstrom Science in 2016), or you could ask Amscope for support (it would be nice if they were interested in their cameras working under micro-Manager).
Sorry to hijack this thread, but I seem to be having the exact same issues as Ricardo did (my AmScope Camera is an MU1000 which seems to have the same driver/software from their end), and while I have downloaded the drivers from the link you and micro-manager recommended and the camera seems to be working perfectly well in the AmScope software, it still refuses to be available on the Hardware Configuration Wizard for MM.
In System Report under USB section I see the USB 3.0 Camera attached. But in Photo Booth app the camera does not show. Also, the AMScope software(very bad) shows the camera attached but it is not showing. If I try to start a record sessions it replies "Failed to start record." If I unplug camera the software states camera unplugged, so it knows it is there.
Windows and MacOS 12.4 are different operating systems. It's unfortunate the camera manufacturer tech support is unhelpful, but they are who you need to get help from. If you can't and you can return the camera return it and buy something which is specifically engineered to work correctly with Monterey.
