It's me again.
Sr. Janet asked me to share one more "best practice" that we have
developed here at St. Joseph. Each week the readings for the upcoming
Sunday are sent to our parishioners. That means when they get up in
the morning on Thursday they will find the "Sunday Readings" in their
inbox.
We have used an outside service called Constant Contact which sends
the e-mails for us. We serve about 3000 families here and there are
about 1000 e-mails that we send each Thursday. We began this
communication because we wanted to give folks the opportunity to
reflect on the readings in preparation for the Sunday liturgy. Putting
scripture in the hands of the people is always a wonderful gift.
For those parishioners who have given us their e-mail addreses but may
not always attend, recieveing the Sunday Readings gives them a gentle
reminder that we are still here.
We do not send any other communication about activities or events, we
simply put the link to the web page at the bottom of the e-mail.

Here is a link to this resource.

If you would like further information, please let me know.

Thanks, Mary, for sharing both of this truly wonderful and helpful
endeavors -- linking faith and life so realistically and practically!
What a gift to your people ... and beyond.

In next week's Wednesday email I will mention it so that those who are
not on this Forum can also benefit from your experience, Cheryl's with
her Baptism parents, and the many other ideas being shared here.
Thanks so much.

Keep the ideas, suggestions, questions coming, everyone!

Your going to preempt issue 36 of SPARKS, but that is OK ... Sparks 36 will reinforce it
