Technology, globalization, changing demographics, a demanding workforce…all of these factors and more have changed the nature of volunteerism. Are you wondering what strategies work best for recruiting and retaining the 21st century volunteer?

This free webinar will examine best practices in volunteer recruitment and retention for adult literacy and basic education programs, including describing strategies that are appropriate for our new century. The webinar will also touch on tried-and-true recruiting practices and what qualities are necessary to run a successful volunteer program.

This webinar will be presented by Diane Rosenthal, executive director of Literacy Volunteers of Stamford/Greenwich, and hosted by ProLiteracy. Beginning April 26, ProLiteracy will host a one-week online discussion on volunteer recruitment and retention on Connect, ProLiteracy’s members-only electronic discussion list. The discussion will be open to all Connect members.

This webinar is part of ProLiteracy’s Project Survive and Thrive, which aims to provide you with the information and resources your program needs to survive in difficult economic times. For more information about Project Survive and Thrive, contact Michele Diecuch, director of field services, at (315) 422-9121, ext. 321, or Dave Whitaker, senior director for strategic initiatives and membership, at (315) 422-9121, ext. 359.
