Greetings,
AARP is conducting an important survey with residents about vital housing options like accessory dwelling units (ADUs) in your community. Specifically, AARP is seeking your participation in this survey based on your specialized interest, knowledge, and/or experience with ADUs.
An ADU is an independent, permanent residential unit, containing a living area, kitchen, and bathroom, built on the same lot as an existing single-family house. ADUs can be attached to or detached from the main house. Other terms like in-law unit, carriage house, or garage apartment are often used to describe an ADU. ADUs can enable older adults to remain in their current residence with live-in care; make it possible for younger adults to assist their aging parents, other relatives and loved ones; or generate rental income for a homeowner.
This short survey will only take about 15 minutes to complete and will provide us with valuable information regarding housing and ADUs. The results of this survey will be used to create resources and information for ADU owners and those who seek to build ADUs.
Your perspective on ADUs is greatly valued and your participation is truly vital to the success of the study. Please click on the link below to complete the survey. The survey will be open until November 30, 2024.
We greatly appreciate your participation and look forward to receiving your completed survey.
Thank you,
AARP
