What is the recommended Gradle version to use with Android build tools?

Hello,

Our build files use "classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:+'" hence recently updated to use gradle 2.2 automatically.

I was wondering wether there is a "recommended" gradle version to use when compiling android projects from the command line.

You can find that information here: http://tools.android.com/tech-docs/new-build-system/version-compatibility. For now it is 2.2.1+
