How to build Android Studio from Source

I am trying to build Android Studio from Source but the document listed here seems outdated, http://tools.android.com/build/studio, is there any way I can build Android studio from terminal as well as IntelliJ

Why is it out dated? Those instructions should work. Like I mentioned on the bug, please post a log of what you did and what happened..

I did git clone of https://android.googlesource.com/platform/tools/adt/idea/ and followed instructions for building from command line as mentioned here http://tools.android.com/build/studio  but there is no directory named tools/idea, and when I run ant on the folder I clone, I am getting Buildfile: build.xml does not exist!
Build failed.

You cannot just do git clone of a single project.
