Builds fail with Could not execute build using Gradle distribution

After updating Android Studio I get this error when I try to build my projects.

org.gradle.tooling.GradleConnectionException: Could not execute build using Gradle distribution 'http://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-1.6-bin.zip'.: Could not execute build using Gradle distribution 'http://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-1.6-bin.zip'.

I'm having this problem as well.

Additionally, I'd like to know if there's a way to downgrade my version of the plugin in the event of regressions such as this?

I had the same problem and was only able to build my project after deleting a space in the path of one of the environment variables, in this case was in path to java home.

Check your environment variable paths in windows environment variables.

Tried to update to Android Studio 0.2.13 and now I'm getting problems with Gradle:

org.gradle.tooling.GradleConnectionException: Could not execute build using Gradle installation '/Users/viliuskraujutis/.gradle/wrapper/dists/gradle-1.7-all/5umk05jbv30euv1jmij2v6vv0f/gradle-1.7'.: Could not execute build using Gradle installation '/Users/viliuskraujutis/.gradle/wrapper/dists/gradle-1.7-all/5umk05jbv30euv1jmij2v6vv0f/gradle-1.7'.

Still persists even after removing everything and installing previous Android Studio  0.2.12.

I have the same problem after upgrading to Android studio 0.2.13.

It is really annoying.

Please please give us a solution.

Try building from the command line. If you don't get enough information to diagnose the problem, use the --stacktrace flag.

Building using command line is OK, so it is the problem of Android Studio.

Luckily, when switching back to Android Studio 0.2.9, everything works fine.
