I have searched a lot for a web host that supports mod_rewrite.
I found freehostia and 50webs. On both hosts the images are not
displayed.
I tried dothost.eu. The script works but the web host forces ads.
Can you please suggest a free web host (ad free) for me to host an
adroit gallery.

I use MediaTemple for most of my hosting and I haven't had any issues
with what you described. Another inexpensive host that I think would
work well also is HostGator.
