ADP@USC Team,

It's been a great year, and we're now preparing to send a team of five USC students to Kenya this summer. We'll keep you all posted on that.

I'd like to take this moment to bring attention to an event being held this week that supports an orphanage in Haiti. Jon Porter, a sophomore in the Marshall School, traveled to Haiti this spring break, and now he's decided to make a positive impact on the people he befriended there. Check out what he has to say below:

It's happening this Thursday night, 8 -11 p.m. at the Mag House (2636 Magnolia, LA 90007).

Anyway Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, and there are tons of orphans and street children. While I was over there we ran feeding programs for the starving kids in the neighborhood. At don't Hait(i) we are going to re-create one of those feeding programs, but we're going to feed the students that come. It's $5 to get fed, and goes straight to an orphanage in Haiti.
We're also going to offer child sponsorships and Haitian jewelry. People can write letters to the kids over there. We'll have a few musical guests singing their original songs. We'll screen a few short videos, and we'll just tell people about the country and what they can do if they want to get more involved or even go to Haiti.
I usually tell people that going to Haiti is the same as going to Africa, only $1,500 off the plane ticket.

So take a break from finals, essays, and projects. Swing by the Mag House this Thursday night for a great time and an awesome opportunity to help out in Haiti. Here's the link to the Facebook event http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=76755266711).

Good luck with the final days of school. Have a great summer, and I look forward to seeing all of you soon. Feel free to email or call me at anytime. Thanks again to everyone who helped make this year a great success. Dream on!
