Need Foster and Funding!
ROSCOE

The world must seem fast-paced for Mr. Roscoe. In just a few months time, he went from his lonely life in the overgrown yard of a foreclosed home  to a student of Atlanta’s very own ‘dog whisperer’ and founder of U.S. Canine Behavior Modification and Psychology, Angie Woods. And somewhere in the middle, he was treated for heartworm – all thanks to the generous donations of folks like you!

Roscoe was put on a quick path of socialization to make up for his first couple of years of none at all. But Roscoe is now ready to find that perfect home. In the interim, he immediately needs a foster home to keep moving toward this goal.

Due to his delayed socialization, Roscoe can’t go to a home with children; however he loves to play with other dogs and would benefit from a very social role model. Angie has just started to see the silly side of Roscoe and suggests that we not place him with a dominant male dog that might stifle his emerging personality as a funny guy.

He is currently boarding with Angie in Buford, Ga. – where his daily walks with the staff continue – until a foster/permanent home can be found. We are anxious for his journey to happily ever after to continue

Have Foster. Need Funding!
BEAU (formerly Beckham)

Once again, we have a pet in need. We’re seeking funding for Bo, one of our adorable foster dogs pulled from animal control’s ‘deathrow.’ In spite of the incredible TLC for various ailments Bo has received from his foster parents since his ‘fleaful’ arrival to their home, they’ve had to taxi him to/from the vet, his recent ear troubles persist.

Antibiotics and an ear drain have both proven unsuccessful; the next step is an operation to remove the problematic hematoma from his ear flap. And with anesthesia, a sleepover with the vet and elaborate bandaging/re-bandaging comes expense.

Doggie Harmony has spent nearly $300 on Bo thus far, and expects another $650-$700 to come – to total nearly $1,000. If you can donate, Bo, his fosters and Doggie Harmony would be much appreciative.

You can PayPal to donate@doggieharmony.org or mail a check to Doggie Harmony Inc, P.O. Box 191362, Atlanta, GA 31119. Thank you as always for your continued support!

Featured Dog!
DANZIG

Will you just look at this sweet face? Precious Danzig was taken in at a local vet’s office when her owners’ decided they couldn’t handle an infant and a dog. Danzig is one of those ‘Heinz 57’ mutts – a dog of many breeds. Though she looks mostly like a staffie, her pretty red coloring and small nose favor small black & red terrier breeds (maybe Welsh or Australian). She's a 2-yr old, 50 lb kissy-face and huggy-butt who’s great with kids and cats. The staff have been teaching her to walk nicely on a leash – she'll just need a new owner and regular walks to carry it through. This sweetheart just needs someone willing to give her the attention she's been craving and in return, you'll have a loyal mate for life. Don’t miss Danzig’s video on Petfinder.com – this is one cute pooch! She manages to have fun, even while cooped up in boarding.

CATFISH HAS LEFT THE BUILDING

Attention everyone... drumroll please ... Catfish has left the building....

Okay, so I'm no Elvis, but I got your attention, right? I'm ready to catch you up on the latest since a Ms. Smiley and Mrs. Smiley2 were busy at work, looking for that ‘port in the storm’ – whatever that meant.

According to Ms. Smiley and Mrs. Smiley2, when a door slams shut, there is usually a window that will fly open. Well, windows were flying open all over – lots of folks reached out to offer help. WOW, some people must really like me!  I am so humbled that I’m blushing (sure, dogs can blush!). Anyhow, while deciding the safest place for the worm stuff to happen, along came something really really good!

I am now a permanent member of a wonderful, loving family. Effective last Friday, some papers were signed, there were a few tears, (they tell me they were tears of joy), and at last, I got down to business checking things out at my new place.

Now a little about my new digs...my new home is in Buckheaven (I think that's what they called it). All I know is that it’s one fancy place and I really like it a lot. They have the biggest drinking bowl in the backyard that I have ever seen. It's surrounded by concrete and even has some fancy water fountain thingies around it. The water is blue and sometimes people sit around in chairs and stare at it. Heck, sometimes they even jump in and kick around in there. Never saw anyone dive into a giant water bowl but they seem to think it's a lot of fun, so why not? I might just get the nerve to jump in there one day myself and see what all the fuss is about.

So, let me tell you about my new peeps…I have a canine sibling and two parents. They think I'm quite the handsome and a sweet little dude. I’m glad they feel that way because when Mrs. Smiley2 talked to my Mommy middle of last week, I had dug a hole in the backyard, big enough for me to jump into and roll around. I got a little dirty and muddy on the end of my schnoodle, so my new Mommy gave me a bath. I AM a Pointer afterall; don't want to let anyone down.

Yes, I am a bit mischievous, but I have also overheard them talking about what a good boy I am. And even when I am in trouble, I see them laughing (even though they think I can’t see). When I’m naughty, I just give them a special Catfish head tilt that says “I love you – please think I'm cute.” It seems to work, so guess I’ll keep using it.

Now let me tell you about all the great adventures I’m having…I’m walking on the leash like a perfect gentleman and getting along wonderfully with my new doggy sister – we even share a bed sometimes. I like to follow her around because she knows the ropes around my new place. Oh, and I even share my food if she wants.

We have been on many car rides and already went to my ‘other’ home in the mountains for the weekend. That house rocks, and it sits on the side of big rock too – complete with premium sniffing and critter chasing.

Looks like the whole wormy treatment thing will start very soon. My new parents told me I will be good as new once this is behind me. They’ve been so darn nice to me and they tell me that they love me a lot. So I guess this is probably as good as it gets. I am feeling pretty lucky right now!

Anyhow, I just wanted to let everyone know that I am safe and in my forever home. But before I go, I want to thank every single person that helped care for me, gave money to pay for treating my injuries and sent their prayers and well wishes.

A special thank you to Ms. Smiley, because I would have never pulled through without her love and care through my darkest times. Thank you Doggie Harmony for pulling me from that sad place where I was staying and giving me a chance at true happiness. Oh, and thanks to that lady and her husband at the shelter that knew I had the potential to be something big. I know I would not be standing today if those "insiders" would not have reached out to what I hear is called the "rescue community".

Finally, I am able to run and play and be part of a real family. I wish all the other dogs could have it so good. They all deserve it too. So, remind all of your friends to adopt a great boy like me – there’s someone just as sweet as me that’s waiting to be saved!

XOXOXOXOXO

Catfish
