So, get a load of handsome Hank, saved at the 11th hour from animal control, and what a save he is! Know anyone looking for a adorable 'teenage' pup? Hank is your man. Read more below, or better, meet him in person at the Ruffus Rescue adoption event this weekend from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Pet Supplies "Plus," 2329 Cheshire Bridge, Atlanta, 30324). Hank only has short-term foster, so we need your help in locating a great home for him, or possibly offering your foster help.

 

And speaking of foster, we are desperate to find some Cesar Milan fanatics with no children who could please please please provide a temporary home and valuable training support to two sweet blondies -- Molly and Farrah. They have each been boarding 6 long months with our trainer and it's integral for their progression to get into a home where they can continue to refine their manners. Both are shy/fearful types but like other dogs - so a confident, social 'other' dog could really serve as an excellent mentor.

 

If you or someone you know fits the foster bill for Hank, Molly or Farrah, please let us know as soon as possible at in...@doggieharmony.org. All expenses for the foster are paid; they just need a house and a caregiver.

 

Even before Doggie Harmony was born, Liz and I shared a philosophy that every dog could be saved with training. Our pre-Doggie Harmony volunteer efforts were entirely dedicated to providing training and extra marketing to the dogs out there in homes or shelters that simply needed to find the right home. We need your help stay the course with these dogs -- through foster/training, increased word of mouth, or donations (see ChipIn link below each dog's picture).

Howdy Do. I am Hank and I'm a 5-month-old Hound/Shepherd/Basenji. I have one blue eye and one green eye and I am one handsome boy. I have some big paws, so chances are good that I will be a large doggie. I already know how to sit and as soon as I put on some weight, I will be movie star quality. Molly, 45 lb, 5 y/o lab, is a hard-luck case who faces being put to sleep b/c she can't adjust as quickly as her environment is changing. In the care of her adoptive mom, Molly overcame a past life of shear misery to include x-ray evidence of being shot at close range. After training, Molly was able to trust again and be a sweet, fun, and obedient girl. But, she's now at risk of regression for reasons outside of this happy duo's control her loving mom's health is failing and other family are not in a position to deal with Molly's relapse. We arranged for her to go to Angie Woods, the Atlanta Dog Whisperer and founder of U.S. Canine Dog Behavior and Psychology Center for boarded training, which has transformed many other misguided dogs like Molly. Molly seems to like other dogs (and even cats), but those in the same household need to be submissive in nature. Could you be the special patient, trainer that Molly's first mom once was? Hiya I'm Farrah, a petite 45 lb, 1 1/2 yr blonde bombshell with the cutest underbite you ever did see! Sometimes, people look at me and say, 'What is she?' Heck if I know I'm a mixed mutt! Call me a beautiful blonde lab with funny bunny ears, if it warms your heart! I had a rough start, raised on a rope in a backyard. Sure, I've seen tough, but now I know what I'm looking for a person to love, who'll love me right back! The people who rescued me have shown me the best of human kindness and I'm a silly, lovable ham whenever I see them, though I still require a warming up period with new folks. I am a bit bashful, always trying to hide my wagging tail but darn it if it doesnt sneak out from under my bum and wag right between my legs! Oh, great news I've just completed training at  U.S. Canine Dog Behavior and Psychology Center, run by Atlanta's very own Dog Whisperer, Angie Woods. I am an A+ dog who loves to play with others, and then settle in for my nightly snooze. It's OK here in boarding, but I'd prefer a cozy home with my very own loved one(s) and perhaps a dog friend too. Like every great love, it takes some training and trust.
