Hi Folks,
As you may already know, Doggie Harmony is a big
proponent of training for dogs. It helps keep many in their loving home and
it is always our first suggestion when folks think they need to rehome their
dog. After all, if you already love someone, it's easier to accept their
issues. Imagine if you're a dog with issues trying to find a home with someone
who doesn't already love him, right?
So, two scenarios here that need our special help --
Orsen, who just needs a 'scholarship' to stay out of trouble in his current
home, and Archie, who has already begun working on his 'degree,' but needs
someone patient to continue this good work. Unfortunately, training is not solving Archie's dislike for the new
baby as quickly as everyone hoped.
And, in case you wondered if we ever just have a dog
that's great as is -- well, take a look at Theo. He loves everyone -- including
cats! -- and is ready to roll on into a new home with a little help from
Doggie Harmony and friends!
If we don't talk before, everyone have a wonderful
Thanksgiving! But, be careful not to feed those doggies too much turkey -- no
bones and stick to the less greasy white meat. See 5 Turkey
Tips for Thanksgiving!

Help
Orsen Keep His Loving Home!

Orsen's Plight: Andrea loves Orsen and
really wants to keep him, but he's having some problems and she's not in a
financial position to get him a trainer. She is unemployed and has 12 and 18 yr
old sons that live with her as well as a daughter that visits with Andrea’s
grandbaby. Orsen has become increasingly aggressive toward her older son
and has also snapped at the baby.
We would like to raise funds for
Orsen to go to Angie Woods of US Canine
(Atlanta’s Dog Whisperer), who successfully helps dogs with fear aggression and
has agreed to work with Orsen. Andrea has already invested an incredible amount
of money and time to save Orsen and is committed to keeping him, but she needs
our help to do it.
Please consider donating via his Chip In
Page (http://doggieharmony.chipin.com/orsen-to-keep-his-home) or a check to
Doggie Harmony, P.O. Box 191362, Atlanta, GA 31119. Be sure to put “Orsen” in
the memo. As always, your donations are tax deductible, as we are a
501c3/charity.
More About Orsen:
Andrea found Orsen in the middle of Windy Hill Rd in Smyrna when he was about 6
m/o. He had been run over by a car and was trying to hide under another car. His
ribs were showing and his mouth was bloody. A friend offered to take him but
instead of taking him home, she took him to the pound. Andrea went to get him as
soon as she found out, but he'd become very ill with kennel cough. She nursed
him through pneumonia and fractured ribs. Since then, she's house- and
leash-trained him, but has noticed he loves some people, but growls at
others.

Theo's Story...Theo is a Great Dane/Lab mix. He weighs 62 lbs and is a stunningly
beautiful boy. He is very friendly and rarely meets a stranger. He's good with
kids, cats, other dogs and even groomers. He lives with and loves to play with
kids and other dogs. Theo is just under a year and looks to have quite a bit of
Great Dane/Lab in his mix, so exercise and basic training are his greatest needs
right now. He would love to find a home with a fenced yard, an avid exerciser
and/or kids/dogs as playmates. We currently have Theo in a foster home and he is
doing great. Please contact Liz for more

Archie's Story...Meet Archie, an adorable 6 y/o, 50 lb Dachshund/Basset mix who has
been trained by and comes with lifetime training from Barkbusters! He's cute, smart and very
loyal to his people. He also likes to play with other dogs! Did we mention he's
house- and crate-trained? This great guy is looking for a new home that is more
routine and predictable than one with a brand new baby. Hey, babies aren't for
everyone, right? Archie is seeking a new home without any children and also one
with folks that have experience with fearful dogs. Please send an email to ad...@doggieharmony.org if you're
interested in learning more about Archie.
