Meet Catfish

Catfish is one special dude. He even has his own blog – http://adognamedcatfish.blogspot.com/. This handsome young pup is about 1-2 years old and just beautiful. He’s a purebred German Shorthaired Pointer and now weighs approx. 50 lbs. He’s up-to-date on shots/preventatives, neutered, microchipped and house/crate-trained.

Catfish has quite a story to tell. He looked to have been dragged by a car/truck and left for dead when animal control found him. The nice folks at animal control did not want him to be euthanized because they felt he was such a great dog – and Doggie Harmony was pleased to come to his rescue.

Catfish is one of the most amazing, loving and forgiving dogs we have ever met. His strong spirit and will to survive have made it especially rewarding to save him. Even in horrible pain, with his fur and flesh ripped off by pavement, he has never growled or even given a mean glance – always proving himself to be completely trusting, cooperative and good. His injuries alone were very extensive, but he was also very skinny, with every bone showing. We were not sure he would survive.

After being treated for many different conditions/infections and going through a slow healing process, he is feeling so much better. We are blessed to have his very experienced foster mom who truly helped save him, as well as the many generous donations from our supporters that enabled Doggie Harmony to pay his bills.

Having survived many days and nights of medical care with lots of TLC, he is now one happy boy and really does know how to smile. He’ll soon be strong enough for heartworm treatment so we would love to offer him a quiet environment, where he can relax while he recovers. Catfish can live a normal life during treatment; he just can’t go jogging or running for a couple months while the heartworms die off. Heartworm is not contagious, so he can be with another dog, as long as he’s prohibited from rough play and/or running around. Catfish loves to chase cats, so he can’t share his home with them.

We look forward to Catfish’s full recovery and ensuring he has a loving home where he’ll never be mistreated again. If you would like to foster Catfish or have an interest in adding a permanent member to the family, please contact us for more information.

Callie

ADORABLE is the only word to describe this precious puppy. Approx.6 months old. She is very sweet and loving. Callie is fully vetted, spayed and is just waiting for a loving family and a home of her own. Callie was pulled from a rural Georgia shelter as she was listed as URGENT and needed a lifeline right away. Doggie Harmony is pleased to be able to help find this sweet pup a home.

Gumbo

Meet Mr. Perfect. Gumbo is approx. 2 yrs. old and was rescued at the 11th hour from a high-kill county shelter where the staff described how much he enjoyed his brief outside visits -- either laying in the sun or kicking up grass with his white-socked feet. He's the perfect dog -- calm and gets along well with other dogs, even cats. He is housetrained and crate-trained. . This handsome dude is a winner. He's approximately 55-60-lbs. Gumbo really is special dog, he'll kick back and watch TV with you or would enjoy a stroll around the park. Whatever you have going, he is truly a go-with-the-flow kind of pooch. When you meet him in person, you'll fall in love. Please contact us if you'd like to meet this adorable pooch.

Jersey

Meet little Miss Puppy Pants. Her name is Jersey and she is about 4 months old. We think she is a cross between a Corgi/Spaniel. We're not sure about the breeds but we are sure she is super cute and a 5-Star pup. Jersey is very very sweet and adorable, just loves life and wants to be part of the family. She gets along well with other dogs big and small and her tail never stops wagging. She will make a great pet for some lucky family. We do not have any cats but since she is a youngster, it probably won't be an issue. Jersey was pulled from an area shelter.

Trixie

Hey I'm Trixie!  Let me get right to the point :)  What I really want is a person all my own to love and honor all the days of your life.  I will be a loyal companion, once we bond; I'll be your girl forever.  I hope my next home will be my last stop.  I'm very ready to be settled and start living.  I'll be happiest in the home of a person or couple who work from home or is retired so I won't be left alone very often.  Someone that wants to baby me and treat me like their child.  I will complete my human’s life if they will allow me to!  Everywhere you go, I'll be there.   When you sit, I'll sit beside you with my head in your lap looking up at you with the sweetest, purest, loving brown eyes ever!   Won't you please take a second look at my pictures and send my foster friend an email?

Brady

Hi! My name is Brady and I'm 6 yrs. old even though I look like a young pup. I feel like one too! I was born on June 6, 2004. My parents are both Shih-Tzu's named Mickey and Minnie. Sadly, my owners need to move to another country and will be traveling a lot for work...this was a long painful decision for them to make, but I know I must move on and share my love with someone new. Could that someone be you? Let me tell you a little bit about me...I love to have my hair brushed, I love to play with humans and toys; I'm good with being the only pup as long as you have time for me or I can share my new home with another pooch. I'm pretty laid back so they won't mind me hanging around. Hey have I told you I'm house broken, I know that's important to most human parents. Ok, more about me. I enjoy walks, tummy rubs and treats.  I'm just an all around sweet boy. I am neutered and current on my check ups and heartworm medication, been with the same doc my whole life. Well, guess that's about it I'm ready to move in when you are, just give my foster mom a shout.

Roscoe

This dog has quite a story. He was abandoned in the backyard when his owner's home was foreclosed on -- and even with an owner, he'd pretty much lived on his own in the overgrown backyard for some time. Not a great life, but Roscoe is very forgiving and just wants to be a cherished pet. He's about 60 lbs and a tall, slender guy. He's just been treated for heartworms and should be in great shape very soon. Roscoe crate trained, good with most other dogs, and does not seem to mind cats either. He loves to fetch the tennis ball. He preparing for his new life ahead by attending boarded training with ‘Atlanta’s Dog Whisperer,’ Angie Woods and her team at U.S. Canine Behavior and Dog Modification. They will show him the ropes of living indoors, help him with basic manners, and teach him the ‘do’s and don’ts’ of living in a house with multiple people or animals. Meanwhile, we’ll be interviewing for his new forever family. Roscoe is very sweet, special and deserving.
