I was wondering if somebody could please help me. I have two problems.
1) I have been trying to hunt down the Ronaldson font for our marketing department for days and have not been able to find it.
2) I also received a query from a customer who has asked: "how to imbed a file in word so that adobe distiller doesn't convert the Ronaldson Italic to Ronaldson Bold Slope.
As you know if you try to amend the text in Adobe by highlighting it and going to tools - text you see both the Ronaldson Bold Slope and the Ronaldson Italic fonts on the list of fonts.... Kind regards,"
We do not have the Ronaldson font on our systems but do have the Ronaldson bold slope.
If anyone knows what I can do it would be greatly greatly and super greatly appreciated if you would let me know.
Thanks Balraj.
I tried searching several major vendors of quality fonts and came up with no result for "Ronaldson". My feeling is that it may be a font off one of those "1000 fonts, $10" CD-ROMs; or a privately (amateur) produced font; or perhaps from some download... Or it could be a proprietary font produced specifically for one client. Or it is a knockoff/copy of another font under another name.
Can you post a link to a sample of the font?
For your second question, Adobe Acrobat Distiller would not ordinarily swap out fonts, other than via Adobe font substitution (using Adobe MM sans or serif). I suggest that you redirect your question to the appropriate Acrobat forum for some ideas here. And when you say, "if you try to amend the text in Adobe by highlighting it and going to tools..." please be specific which Adobe application you are referring to (there are many) and under which platform, version, and operating system.
Thanks.
Neil
As for itals, are you sure there's an italic version (as opposed to an oblique)?
Cheers, Dominic
When I did my search, ITC Tiffany popped up. However, Tiffany is a far more recent font.

I found Ronaldson in Rookledge's TypeFinder and it is quite similar to ITC Tiffany, but more like OldStyle No 2, with the exaggerated serifs of Tiffany. Not to my taste, but interesting.

Thanks for your help. Basically whats happened is that we received a word 97 document from someone else and when we open it the font shows as it should, in Ronaldson. But when we pdf the document using Adobe Acrobat 5 the font comes up as Ronaldson bold slope.
When converting I tried to use the embed all fonts option but this didn't work.
I'm a bit confused because the word document shows the correct typeface but I can't find the font on the PC, I can find Ronaldson bold slope but not ronaldson.
A collegue has been able to solve the problem by using the distiller. There is an option that apparently says use the fonts displayed and send them to the printer.
Just wanted to thank you for all of your help.
Thanks vey much Regards Balraj.
Have you tried your question on the folks from Microsoft? Not that they have a cool user-to-user forum like this! <vbg>
