You can't extract text from a PDF using Adobe Reader in a PHP script.

Do you know of any other way this can be done?

I was thinking of parsing the PDF file but I'm not exactly sure of how to do this.

the need is still here, so I add my answer to this question.

currently I'm working on a PHP Library to parse PDF files and extract text page by page.
the project is still under active development, but you can already test it and send me feedback.
