Using FIND in A.R.8. A little help please

Hi Guys,
I have downloaded Adobe Reader 8 which all seems fine but I must be doing something wrong. When I open a PDF document and try to search for a word, it ALWAYS says there is no occurence of the word even though, by testing with obvious and visible words, it says the same thing. What have I missed or where am I going wrong.

I am having the same problem! Since I use this feature frequently in my research, this is a real problem for me.
