Patching to 1017

Hi there,

I'm trying to patch the latest exe-File from Adobe - 10.1.4.

This executable contains 10.1.0 and the 4th patch. I extracted the exe
to an temporary folder and then there I extracted acroread.msi to a
rollout folder by using "msiexec". After that I patched the acroread.msi
in rollout folder using "msiexec /a /p". So AR is at 10.1.4...

Now I tried last step for every patch up to 10.1.7 but without success.
I took the files from successfully patched version, e.g. 10,1,4, and put
them into a new one for patching to next level.


1010 + 1014.msi => success: 1014 => okay, step forward
1014 + 1015.msp => failed! => step back
1010 + 1015.msp => success: 1015 => okay, step forward
1015 + 1016.msp => success: 1016 => okay, step forward
1016 + 1017.msp => failed! => step back
1015 + 1017.msp => failed! => step back
1014 + 1017.msp => failed! => step back
1013 + 1017.msp => failed! => step back
1010 + 1017.msp => success: 1017 => why from beginning

Files have new versions but are there all corrections, applied from the
former patches, in last patch 10.1.7 included? I hope, because 10.1.6 is
only 1.3 MB and the others ca. 10+ MB...

Or is there an error in my patch strategy?
