Ever since we upgraded to Adobe Reader 8 from Reader 7, there are certain PDF files that won't print properly. We get a series of two dialog boxes: "The document could not be printed", and "A drawing error occurred". It will print out a page of garbage as well. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Reader 8 and it did not fix the problem.

Some other PDF files print fine, but others will not. The PDF files that will not print are located at <http://www.titus-hvac.com/ecatalog/> (specifically the file <http://www.titus-hvac.com/ecatalog/GetFile.aspx?FileID=890)>

When I view the document properties of the PDF, it says that it was created in Adobe InDesign CS (3.0.1), PDF Producer: Adobe PDF Library 6.0, PDF Version: 1.5 (Acrobat 6.x).

Strangely, I can open and print these files in older versions of Adobe Reader without any trouble.

Any ideas?

Any printers (HP LaserJet 5100 printers with latest PostScript drivers, Savin 4051).

We are getting the errors "The document could not be printed", and "A drawing error occurred" from ANY machine on our network with Adobe Reader 8.0 when trying to print these particular PDF's. It prints fine in any other (older) version of Adobe Reader.

I realize this is an old thread, but encountered the problem today (in Reader 11).

As a first step, I tried changing Reader to "Print as Image" (see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/quick-fix-print-pdf-image.html)

That didn't help. So I also upgraded Reader from 11.0.4 to 11.0.5. Minor, I know, but it did fix the issue!
