Hi,

I used the outline font in my application. It all works fine on the
printer and when pdf is created using ps2pdf.
However, when the same file is processed with Adobe Distiller or
with Preview on my Mac, I get a black page (not blank, black!).

The exact example from the Blue Book behaves the same way (p. 205).

Is there anything I should change in the settings of the Distiller or
there is another way of getting the custom outline font?

TIA

Michael

It seems that (at least) preview does not insert the generated outline font
into the PDF. And probably distiller has the same bug.

I think you need to save the PostScript generated outline font into a file
where preview or distiller can find it, but this is a task for a more
experienced PostScript programmer, I think.

The April 2002 issue of the Acumen Journal (#15) has an article on
making outline fonts that you might find useful. It's free for the
downloading at www.acumentraining.com/acumenjournal.html.

Hope that helps.
