when i run the 7.0.1 update program for Photoshop 7.0 i get the error when
asked to "Please verify the directory path where Adobe Photoshop 7.0 is
located."
i did a default install and it is in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0
with that path inputed i get this error
"The Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1 Update program cannot find Adobe Photoshop 7.0 in
C:\Program Files\Adobe/Photoshop 7.0\

Please attempt to locate Adobe Photoshop 7.0 again or cancel the update and
install Adobe Photoshop 7.0 from the original disks or CD."

It means you have a bootleg copy of the program.

That means the 7.0.1 updater believes that you are using an illegal
pirated copy of Photoshop.

If you are using a legal copy of Photoshop, call Adobe at 800-833-6687
and they will be happy to help you.

I've noticed that the downloads for the patches ARE REGISTRATION
SPECIFIC. I downloaded the install for 7.0.1 at work, then copied the
patch to a CD to update at home (since I like having all the patches
available if I am not on the net for some reason).

The file downloaded to the CD would not patch my version at home. I had
to log-in and download the patch from Adobe's site using my reg# at home.

If logging in and downloading the patch from Adobe doesn't work, tech
support is the only other option.

your slash is backwards in the path??
OR you need the cracked version WITH 7.01
but if you're going bootleg may as well get PS CS

the 7.01 update corrects the saving errors when opening files from Explorer
to PS, when you go to save it often says it cannot save as the file is in
use or something ?
to prevent just use open from the PS menu and don't open from Explorer.
