PS7 batch and actions: how pause/resume?

I wish to process large batches of photos - and need a pause/resume facility inside an action to allow the occasional additional editing for some photos.

It is possible to stop an action (using the insert stop/continue) and then resume by clicking "play" in the action pallette.

Sadly, it does not work if the action is invoked in a batch. (File>automate>batch). The batch processor won't allow you to pause/resume, only to skip the current photo and continue with the next one.

Who knows a solution?
and where can I make a suggestion to Adobe?

It's pretty much all or nothing on pause/resume. So from that standpoint ALL your images *could* be paused for editing, or none of them, but not some of them. Exactly HOW is dependant on what you need to do. In most cases, such as touch ups etc., you're right, but in some cases (cropping, etc.) you *can* pause for editing. So a little clarification on that will help.

The best workaround for what *I* have to do in terms of batch processing and editing, is that I separate "manual" edits from those that are to be batched by placing them in separate folders.

Funny, I was trying to write an Action last night and couldn't figure out how to pause the workflow inorder to allow individualized input. Can anyone help?

Hey, I finally found one I can answer! After recording your Action, in the Actions palette, look for the squares on each line of your Action. Hover the cursor over any such square and a tooltip reading "Toggle dialog on/off" will show up. Click the square on your Action name to enable pausing on all steps, or click the squares only on the individual steps at which you want to pause.
