How good is Polaroid's Dust & Scratch Removal Photoshop plug-in for B&W
or color images? (The file pdsr1_0.exe is freely available at
Polaroid's website.)

I haven't tried it myself, but comments on my forum range from positive to
glowing.

Wheee! New dust and scratch and Alienskin beta on the same day. Bring me some crappy photos RIGHT NOW!

Oh, wait... my hard drive's full of them.

Never mind.

Tomaz, thanks for the tip. I just tried the Poloroid filter and liked it a lot. I have a problem portrait of someone with really bad skin (lots of little red veins, large pores and discolorations) and it did a great job of smoothing it out without looking plastic.

I used the Poloroid filter on the entire image, then backtracked and painted the dust and scratches effect back in just on the problem areas with the history brush, varying opacity as necessary.

I then finished up with the healing brush.
