I have a copy of "Adobe Photoshop CS4 Classroom in a Book". If I learn this book will it provide all the material I need to become a Certified Expert in Photoshop CS4, does it cover the course material completely, or should I look for some other book?

I am already a Certified Associate in Photoshop CS3 and am looking to upgrade my skills. I understand Expert is a lot harder than Associate.

There is no book that I know of that trains specifically to the ACE. CIAB might be the closest, but it was designed to teach the program, not the certification. I would go to the certification pages and download the course objectives to the certification exam, and study to that.

I'm also preparing for the ACE exam and i found the online documentation to be quite useful as it covers all the program features including stuff that gets left out of most training titles like Data Sets.

"Brilliant Adobe Photoshop CS4" is published in the UK on Amazon.co.uk and claims to prepare you for the ACE exam. Does anyone have experience of this book, does it actually prepare you for the exam, is it clear and readable, is it any good? Better or worse than CIAB?

Is there any book other than the "Brilliant" series which claims to prepare you for the expert exam?

I'm not even sure the Brilliant series prepares you for the exam. The info I saw on the publishers website merely says it includes the exam objectives. You can download them for free from Adobe.

I just got certified.
Tip: focus on the Automation processes like Scripting and Batching. There was a lot of questions about this.

I would not count on this. I understand that there is a pool of questions in the exams, and the ones that each person gets varies randomly. (It was like that back when I got my ACE.)

So different users may or may not get the same number of questions on any one area. You really want to be up on everything in the prep guide that Zeno points to.
