Ever since CS1, both PS and Bridge delay up to 45 seconds to shut down. I am using Windows XP Pro, SP2 with 3GB RAM.
When I shutdown, I need to end program from Task Manger numerous times. Why does this problem keep happening.

are you just shutting down your system without exiting the apps first? you should use file> exit on the application before shutting down your system.

Even after I clear all folders and images, closing down manually still causes problems. Not always, but at least 70% of the time.

As I mentioned, this has happened in all editions of PSCS.

you shouldn't shut down the system until the cs apps are closed. the preferences are written when you shut the apps down. you'll run into problems if your computer shuts down while an app is writing to disk.
