In short, you don't. You can bring them into Illustrator or Corel Draw
and save them a EPS files. Those will open in Photoshop.

Yes you can bring them into PS if you have the proper WMF plugin. The one I
have is for PS7. Would you like to have a copy of it? I am sure that it is
legitimate to do this, since I didn't pay for it. PS CS seems to already
have the WMF plugin in it. Let me know and I can Email it to you. It is only
55KB big.

The Gimp <http://www.gimp.org>, a free program, can import WMF and export PSD.

Or you can open them in Paint, and save as bitmaps. Crude, but effective.

There are also some freeware programs out there that handle .bmp and can save as .gif or .jpeg. Check those out if you don't have an illustration program.

Kathy,

I have a (freeware) WMF import plug-in. If you like I will email it to you.

Ron...

Is there a Mac version of that plugin?

Phosphor,

I don't know of any Mac version. I have this plug-in for many years now and can't remember the website I got it from. I tried to find it again recently but couldn't. It probably no longer exists.
It's a small plug-in (WMFFORMA.8BI - 56320 bytes) that should be placed in the File Formats folder. Maybe it's not different from the Windows version, I don't know...
