I am getting this message. Can anyone tell me how to correct it?

You currently have Adobe Photoshop's primary Scratch and Windows' primary paging file on the same volume. It is recommended that you set Adobe Photoshop's Primary Scratch volume to be on a different volume, preferabley on a different physical drive.

Thanks,

Jamie

JJ,
Next time you launch Photoshop, use the CTL ALT SFT key combination immediately when you click the Photoshop Icon. This should give you a dialog box to delete the "Prefs" file. If you delete the file, possibly Photoshop will run for you.

To get rid of the "Swap file and Scratch disk" message. Go to Edit > Preferences and set the Scratch disk to something besides " Startup drive " . Performance is enhanced if the Windows swap file and Photoshop Scratch disk are on different drives, but Photoshop will run with just one drive.

I also have the same problem. After having uninstall and re-install, deleting all ps.*tmp, clearing all tmp folders, and making room on my drive. But Photoshop 7 does not launch. It will start but after iniltializing it stops responding. Recently I have loaded latest Windows 2000 patches. Any help is greatly appreciated. Regards JJ

Brent you're the man! I pressed the keys combination upon launching. A popup asked me if I wanted to delete the settings. I hit OK and the application launched completely. I correctly set the preference settings. And I am running great. Thank you to the forum and all participants. Regards JJ

I logged in here to see if I could find an answer to this error, which I got only when I installed PSE 1.0. Had no idea what it meant, but I want to avoid the threatened "reduced performance!" The app has been running fine, as far as I can see, so I suppose there's no reason for me to anything, BUT if I decide to do something, what do I do?!!

Thanks,
Trace

It's not an error, it's just a informational message - and it means exactly what it says.
