You can Alt-drag and drop (copy) steps from one Action to another in the Actions palette.

That does work for me, thank you.
I thought the action would keep running on the next document, but it does not. You see I wanted to run a action; select the next document; run the action; select the next document; run the action; etc; etc

The way to do this is make sure all documents to be processed are in a
folder. Make sure the folcer contains no other documents. Then choose
file/automate/batch for the batch process, select your action. for the
source, select folder and then browse to the folder that your files to
process are in.

This process won't save or close your files, so be sure you have these steps
in your actions, if required.

I build my actions modularly, so there is an action called 'saveclose' which
saves and closes the file. This action is run as a step for any action
which needs to save and close files as it goes.
