1. Can I run 64-bit CS4 on XP x64?
2. Is CS4 supported on XP x64 or do I have to move to Vista x64?
3. What GPU does CS4 recommend to use?
Thanks!
Can anyone else help me?
Bob
Well, x64 Vista it is!

Note, however, that some people using those cards are experiencing problems. If I had it to do over, I'd download the trial of CS4 and test it on my system.

Certified and supported can mean two different things, depending on the software company. The software company I work for, as well as others, can have software that runs on many flavors of Windows, but it's not certified on all of them. To be officially certified, Microosft tests the software and it takes $$ for each test. Adobe doesn't explicity say "not supported on XP x64", so maybe they had a patch to run on a certain OS buried on their website somewhere that someone knew about.
Geez, guys, sorry for asking a question about x64 XP! wtf?

x64?
Adobe engineers have answered that question on this forum in the past. To paraphrase, they say it is because they have identified a lot of issues with XP64 and Microsoft's position is that they are not going to fix them. Many, but not all, of those issues are in the OpenGL arena--some are in basic areas of Windows--Adobe didn't elaborate on specifics.
Basically the situation is that many users have said they are using XP64 with PS CS4. Some are having problems, some are not. Adobe does not support PS CS4 on XP64 so you will not get help from Adobe--though they did release a registry hack that may allow OpenGL features to work with certain video cards. This registry hack basically tells PS CS4 to use OpenGL even if the driver says it doesn't support it. However, if you do insist on staying with XP64 and do install PS CS4 you will likely have some problems and to solve those problems you're on your own.

You might also try Planet64.
Good luck.
They say "tested", but don't say if it works or not? It sounds like you're
having problems with your GPU?
Well, I seriously doubt that Adobe would list a card as tested if it didn't work. Trouble is, there are so many variables other than the video card which may come into play, not the least of which are apparently problems with CS4 code.
My card (ATI X1950 Pro) isn't on the tested list, but it does meet the system requirements as published by Adobe. If I had known about the "tested" list prior to buying CS4, it certainly would have figured into the purchase decision.
To answer your question, though, my card works fine, except with CS4.
