I have Photoshop 7 and just downloaded the 12.8mb Photoshop 7.01 update file "ps701up.exe". When I run it the update finds my installation directory correctly and then says "The Adobe Photoshop 7.01 Update Program cannot find Adobe Photoshop in d:\Art Programs\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\

Please attempt to locate Adobe Photoshop 7.0 again or cancel the update and install Adobe Photoshop 7.0 from the original disks or CD."

Photoshop 7 works without any problems and this update should work. Does the update have bugs?

I assume you're copying and pasting that response. I wouldn't want you
to get carpal tunnel syndrome. ;)

Not necessarily. Sometimes uninstalling and reinstalling 7.0 befor, the applying the update will resolve the issue. Problem could also be caused by utilites running in the background, etc.

Standard ts procuderes should be done first before call Customer Service.

Thanks for the heads up Mark!
