Is there such a thing? Failing that, does anyone know which common font might be closest to the font used for the Superman title. By that I mean the superman text used in the comics or posters as the title. It has a slight arc to it and the letters have a 3-d effect.

I want to create a poster with the superman look, but with different text. If there is an existing font that would be close, how would I turn it into a 3-d look?

thanx.

I think 'Princteown' maybe what you are looking for, the slight arc you can get in Photoshop, the 3D effect is something different, you really need CorelDraw to get that right (Illustrator sucks for this). Good luck!

I've done some experimenting and found that Futura MD BT is pretty close. I've used warp text to create the arc I want.

Now if only I could figure how to do the 3d swept-back look.

Illustrator is fine, when you add KPT Vector Effcts.

You can use Pshop plug-ins in Illustrator. Sure wish you could use Illustrator plug-ins in Pshop.

Go to
www.photoshopseminars.com/imessedup.html
there are really neat instructions for 3d type from a seminar in LA last weekend.

Gertie, I checked out the tutorial for the 3d type, and I was going to use it. It was better then anything else I had seen.

Then I thought, what about Printshop, doesn't it have some text effects? It has a headline effect that came to closest to what I wanted, and I just saved the image as gif, to support transparency, opened it in PS and pasted it into my PSD.

So here I was asking for help, and I had the answer already on my PC. Sometimes it takes awhile for the old grey matter to kick in.
