I am having trouble getting files to print on my Epson 2200. I am using PS7 on a new G4 running 10.2.6. When I try to print, the Print Center stops the process and won't restart.

I know the printer is connected properly and prints fine from other applications such as InDesign. Is there some setting I am unaware of or overlooking in Photoshop?

I had that exact problem on a client's 10.26/2200 box.

After all the firedrills, I took my 10.26 Powerbook on site and the same problem.

The book printed my 2200 fine here.

SHORT:
I got Epson on the phone, went through their firedrills and they repaced the printer.

That's strange. When I updated my G4 to the latest Epson Drivers for Jaguar I had the same problem for like 3/4 hour. I was in a rush to get out the door with a single print in hand. That's when these things happen. I got it working and now it seems pretty perfect. Being a tinkerer trying out various RIPs & drivers, I have switched it around to FireWire, Ethernet and USB more times than I care to know.

Not sure what really did the trick but I think this may:
Turn off the printer for a good couple of minutes. While you are waiting delete any print queues for that printer. Power off CPU, power on the printer then power up the CPU and (hopefully) create new queues.

Some people had success only after deleting the Epson Driver parts and reinstalling.

We have had the same problem. One particulary nasty Epson Tech guy said it could't be the printer. Said it was most likely an Apple issue or Photoshop issue. He then all but hung up on me. After tinkering around I got it to print. (don't ask me what I did). but now my custom epson profiles print magenta. The Post Script profile looks good though. Anyone got any ideas.

>my custom epson profiles print magenta...any ideas.

That magenta error sounds like the difference between AdobeRGB and a monitor-type RGB.
Are you printing AdobeRGB with SameAsSource Print Space?

In the Epson utility:

Document Space (embedded tag)
Print Space (custom profile)
NO COLOR ADJUSTMENT
