I've recently bought photoshop cs4 to use on my macbook, but I also use version 8.0 at work. I'm having trouble printing off files which I have created in cs4, on the work computer using the older version of photoshop. I was just wondering if the two versions were compatible or if I needed to save files created in cs4 differently so they work in the older version?

michelle,

If you are creating files in CS4 and implementing features not used in older versions, you may have problem either opening or printing the files in the older version.

If the work computer is also yours, you can do a second installation of your CS4 software on that machine and activate it -- as long as you are the user on both machines, and you don't use the software simultaneously on both machines.

Thanks Neil,

But unfortunately I don't own the work computer so I wouldn't be able to do that. All I really want to do is open the file in the older version and print it off. I was wondering if maybe when working in the newer version, if I flatten the image or save it a certain way I would be able to use it to print in the older version.

the file will open no problem especially if you save with maximize compatibility.

you can save a flattened version if you wish.
