Congrats on a very clever and subtle visual pun that almost escaped me.

This doesn't surprise me in the least. As a lover of Guinness I have come
to know that the more you drink the smarter you get.
Grant
Anne ... neat colour change
Bob ... Great set of images. No 2 is my favourite the colours are superb.
Chris ... Very surreal. I love the attention to detail ... especially the "belly jewel" :)
David .. the sign is so funny and just what you would expect from Egypt.
Flar ... How did you do that? it looks good.
JoAn ... The blending is really effective. I like the way you have done it.
Jodi ... Two great images ... No 1 is my favourite looks so simple and yet must have taken ages to do. It is beautiful ... just wish I could do that :)
Marilyn ... Amazing effect. I love the way you do your images,
Rita ... Clever idea and you have blended him in well.
Bob ... I had the same idea but didn't manage to get him that thin. Please pass on the diet details :)
Tab ... I like the effect in your number 2 .. how did you do it?
Terri ... Oh Terri those bandages are just brilliant. How did you get them to look so real? ... I bet it took ages.
Wendy
Thanks. The bandages took FOREVER. I struggled with how to make Bob into a mummy until it hit me that I could do it with pattern fill layers...lots of pattern fill layers. Luckily, it also hit me that I could use drop shadow to "paint" the lines. I just made a Pattern fill for each bandage, filled it with black, lowered the opacity of the fill layer to around 30% so I could see where I was painting as I used white to paint in each bandage. I scaled the pattern fill after doing the first bandage, then duplicated it several times so I didn't have to keep going to the fill and scale dialog...although I did go through and vary the pattern scale here and there. I also set up the drop shadow on the first bandage fill layer then copied it so I could just paste the drop shadow onto each pattern fill layer as I went.
Terri
Wendy,
Been having problems with my ISP all day, I'll try to answer while the
connection is still working.
The digital tummy tuck was done using the Liquify tool. I isolated Pharoah
Bob on a layer of his own. Then, within Liquify, I used both the warp tool
and the pucker tool at various sizes adjusting the radius to about a third
larger than the area I wanted to work on. I used the pucker tool first,
then used the warp tool to sculpt and fine tune the edges and features. I
worked in small stages and incrementally built up the effect.
Bob
Great diet effect :) ... pity it won't work for me!!
Wendy
Marilyn
i got the german version of elements, so all i can do
is guess the names of the filters: "water color" [for bob] and
"fresco" [for background].
the grid down below citicorp center is really a grid, while
citicorp center isn't really citicorp center. ;-)
it's a model i'm doing with gmax for simcity 4.
ps:
i'm still in need of good detailed pictures of the
plaza area, e.g. the fountain near the stairs, also of st. peter's
and the low-rise building seen from 54th and 53rd street. any
help on this would be great!
The match book and #2 are terrific.
Terri
Flar ... Thanks for the information ... just wish I could help with the photographs but I'm in the UK. Hopefully someone may be able to help :)
Wendy
I sent to Caves.
Rita
You are doing fine ... taking part in the Challenge (and this forum) is a great way to learn.
I have been using Elements now for about 15 months and after three months I wasn't doing nearly as well as you are. One thing I used to do in the early days was try out a tutorial and then use it in the next weeks challenge ... :)
Look forward to seeing your next Challenge entry.
Wendy
Anne love the statues
Bob the golden colours of your #2 are really nice
Carl really like the mystical green globe
Celia really like your #2
Chris R love the planets and the stars
James the scroll was a great idea
Jodi love the film and I laughrd out loud at your #3, what a difference!
Marilyn all your entries are superb, the horses cats and dogs - do you draw them yourself? Their expressions fit the subject so well.
Robert I laughed aloud at your big and little Bob too, it is so funny
Wendy the matchbox is a great idea and so well done.
Liked them all but time is fleeting as usual!
Best to all cal
Cal ... Nice set of images No 3 is the one I like best. Very clever use of the original image.
Carl ... Great effect ... how did you do it?
Celia ... I like the embossing ... it gives it a surreal look.
Cliff ... Good blending ... and very well done.
James ... How did you do that scroll ... it is very effective.
Kent ... Two really good images. The bubbles are brilliant how did you do them? I have tried to do bubbles in the pasty but never managed anything as good as yours.
Lorace ... Excellent blending and the snake is a very good touch as is the out of frame effect.
Lucy ... Nice mix of techniques.
Nancy ... Wow that is superb ... it seems so real :)
Patti .... I think the way you have blended the images is excellent. I couldn't find the join!!
Bob ... The little fat one is amazing ... Did you liquify him?
Robin ... That is so well done. Did you use substitute arms? and I really like the text, did you use one or more styles on it?
Russel ... Neat idea and the "twins" are very cute !! :)

love the shooting star and the red flowers -
good signs for the future!
i wish you and your little fox a
shooting star on each and every night!
i'm looking forward to the party on friday, and
i just can't wait to make the party crowd
shaking their a*s!
cheers,

I liked your match box too, and slender Bob.
Selected favorites from this weeks creations: Terri' UFO, Tab's multi-media peeping-tom, Stanley's portal, Robert J's mini-Bob, Marilyn's Chariot (but those cats in #3 are too weird. I hope I never meet one in real life), Lucy's shooting star & ripples, Kent's distortion, Jodi's hippie of the year (reminded me of Donovan's Sunshine Superman) & film strip, Cliff's Sphinx, Chris's Sun Bob, Cal's landscapes, Carl's green globe, Bob's bumper sticker, and Beth's protestor.
Great work everyone!
Robin S
Thanks. I was inspired by a Ford ad I got in the mail last week. You did a great job on the #2. I really like how you used the armband to disguise the new arm.
Robert J,
I've got to add I got a real kick out of your "Mini Me" or is that "Tattoo"...
Terri
Marilyn
"Mini-Bob" was definitely inspired by "Mini Me" but I do remember Herve
Villechaize's Tattoo character quite well. Did you know Herve was a
talented painter and photographer? It's too bad he is no longer with us.
Wendy, you are correct, I did liquify him. I wanted to give him some
character of his own and not just make an exact, but smaller, copy of
Pharoah Bob. I do like how he turned out.
Jodi, Robin, and those who I've missed (I'm so absent minded), I'm glad you
got a kick out of Mini-Bob. I hope I can continue to find something to
tickle your funny bone in the coming challenges.
Everyone did a great job. I especially liked Jodi's "Man of the Year" ,
Beth's Hippy Bob, Bob's bumper sticker, and Robin's guitar player. But,
everyone should give themselves a pat on the back.
Bob
That is brilliant ... no doubt lots of new people have been viewing the Challenge this week :)
Wendy
Cal
I always enjoy the humor in your challenges.
Cheers
Cliff
beth
I also really dig the bumper sticker. What...Terri's lemon-limealicious lighting preset a little overpowering? LOL.
Terri
Your right Bob, adding a crook and flail should have been a no brainer! At the very least the crook, as that's what I had in mind. I'm kind of new at this and this was my first Challenge entry. I have followed Nancy's posts and replies in the forum and thought this being her dad was extra special. I thank you for taking the time to include me in your comments. I clicked on the link to your web site and was very impressed with all of your challenge entries.
Russell
I thank both of you for your comments. I did not make that globe. It came out of the Total Training Video for PSE and used to make a composite image there. Deke McClellan I think is the presenter of that video. That globe image has been mentioned in this forum before and I suspect some may have recognized it.
As discussed in the forum thread "Color Picking" started by Barbara Brundage, I am fairly color blind to red/green. I actually thought that was a yellow sun until I was told differently. One of the reasons I am interested in using instruments that give hexadecimal values to colors (I think I'm using that term correctly) is to avoid mistakes like this.
Bob, I see a reference to a pun. I have looked at yours and don't see it. If you don't want to spell it out can you give me a hint. I guess I'm not only color impaired but humor impaired also.
Carl
Thank you. I had forgotten the name of that symbol so I didn't get it. That's a wonderful pun. I'm sure you hve heard the one about denial is not just a river in Egypt.
Carl
As always, I loved the work both of you did, as well as all of the others! Awesome. and what a cute subject, huh?
Lorace
I appreciate to compliment.
Thank you.
Cliff
Cal
I have no idea why, but I did recognize it when I looked at that entry.
I got a big kick out of it.
And thanks for the comment on my entry. I've got to get back into the
swing of things.
Dick
all i did is extract bob [not you ;-)] and apply the filter "Aquarell",
which might be "water colo[u]r" in your english version. the three
parameters from top to bottom say 9, 1, 1 *now*, but i'm pretty
sure i didn't touch anything since i used it for the last challenge.
