Hello

I知 having trouble installing my PhotoDeluxe 4.0.1 Update.

I am currently using PhotoDeluxe version 3 that came with my Cannon Scanner and just downloaded 4.0.1 but when I try to install I just get the following error message:

典he destination directory could not be determined for PhotoDeluxe 4.0"

My current PhotoDeluxe is located in:

"C:\Program Files\Canon Creative\PhotoDeluxe\PD3.exe"

But I have no option in my 4.0.1 install to tell it that.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

I知 running this on an HP 6460 with an Intel 400 MHz, 128 Megs RAM with Win 98 SE

Thanks

I知 having trouble installing my PhotoDeluxe 4.0.1 Update.

I am currently using PhotoDeluxe version 2 that came with my Hewlett Packard Scanner and just downloaded 4.0.1 but when I try to install I just get the following error message:

典he destination directory could not be determined for PhotoDeluxe 4.0"

My current PhotoDeluxe is located in:

"C:\Program Files\\PhotoDeluxe 2.0

Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
I had upgraded through Web to 3.0, but lost it when I changed computers. I have several PDD files that can't be opened untill I load the upgrade. When I try to open with the 2.0, they will not open.

Thanks,
Joan

I have Windows XP and can't get the update 4.01 for PhotoDeluxe to install. Also I just installed 3.01 and it tells me there is a browser problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also have Windows XP and after downloading the update 4.01, it will not install. Error message says "The destination directory could not be determined." How long does it take to get answers to problems on the User Forum? The program PhotoDeluxe 2.0 doesn't work on my Windows XP. I still can't open pdd. files that I have saved from using PhotoDeluxe on my old windows 98 program. Would really appreciate a solution to this problem.

I'm not convinced that anyone from Adobe even looks at this forum. I'm experiencing this same problem (trying to upgrade to 4.0.1 from Version 3) and figured I'd find a solution here, but after reading through much of the forum, I have yet to come across a response from anyone other than a few "super-users" of the product. I'm thinking that this is Adobes intention. Oh well!!

After my last entry, I looked around a bit and think I've solved the problem of upgrading to the "latest" PDHE which Adobe has available as a download. First of all...if you have any other version of PDHE other than version 4.0, the so-called upgrade won't work. Meaning, that if you're running V2.0 or 3.0, when you try running the upgrade, it says it can't find a directory destination. That's because it ain't there.

Why Adobe doesn't make available an upgrade to 4.0 on their site, is beyond me...other than the fact that they're dumping this product to focus on the $600.00+ PhotoShop.

I'd recommend MGI's PhotoSuite, but I think Roxio (of CD Creator fame) just bought that product, so it's probably not as inexpensive as it once was.

Anyway -- that should explain the problem that most of you have mentioned. Looks like we're stuck with whatever the last version is that we purchased or acquired as a "gimme" with another product.

Thank you for your research! At least we know it can't be done. Since they have discontinued the PDHE software, guess they don't have to provide upgrades.

I had thought of buying Adobe Photo Shop Elements 2, cost is abut $50 at Sam's Club, but will research the MGI's Photo Suite first.

Again thank you for solving a frustrating problem.

I have a new HP computer. It runs XP. All is well except my scanner software which is PhotoDeluxe 3 will not install. Nor will the scanner install. I went to the photo shop site and they said to download EPSParsr.8by. I did...Now, I can't seem to copy this file to the plug in folder. Can anyone help. HP told me they don't support any product that isn't HP.
Thank you.
