Hi

I have PM7 on a Win XP Machine, and I bad graphic that I can not remove, cut, delete, relink anything with out the error "Cannot Save - Disk Full" crashing the document when I try to save it. I have 69gb of free disk space, and using 524mb of ram. This is also preventing me from printing, PDFing and building booklets etc. The doc is 24 pages long (25MB) and has lots of graphics linked.

Why should this be! I have no hair left, and a deadline looming!

Sounds like a corrupt file.

Can you easily re-create?

Tried all the usual tricks, and a few unusual ones. I can not delete the page with the graphic on it and re do it. Looks like I have to start the thing from scratch. Nothing a few days without sleep can't fix! Damn thing.

Is there a later Pagemaker than 7.0?

Do you have the 7.01 update?

7 is the latest,

Indesign would be the greatest!

Grim:

Create a new document. Open the old one with the bad graphic. Drag-and-drop all items from the other pages into the new document except that bad graphic. Make sure you create sequential backups along the way. Make sure to Save As the last version to a new name.

Now find another good version of that graphic and Place it in the newest document.

P.S. Would you click on the Preferences button above and change your login to reflect your real name please? Or add your name after your messages. I like to know who I’m helping. Thanks.

Thanks Guys

I tried the new document approach, and it fixes the disk full thingy. I have downloaded the update to 7.0.1, and with the new document get the 7015 error when trying to build a booklet. Trying to print the same thing using the booklet printing hangs the computer as well.

Might have to try Indesign. Does this convert PM7 docs?

Yes, providing they're not corrupt!

We get this problem from time to time on computers at work. They are networked. If computer #2 is working on a file from computer #1, it is very important to be sure that the source is correctly networked. Any error or shortcut (especially) results in seeing a file on computer#2 from Comp#1, but being unable to save it. Source is critical! Occassionally, someone will create a shortcut or roundabout network, which just doesn't work. BTW, we're using WIN XP, PM7 on all computers. Cliff Moore

Hi, waterrat365,

> Source is critical!

Exactly - do not place files from a remote drive. Copy them to a local drive first and then place them.
