2) Place .eps file in Pagemaker 7.0
3) Create PDF from pagemaker, embedding all fonts as per advice.
4) Cyrillic prints as ???? when printing or screen viewing PDF through Acrobat.
But almost any other path through the above works...to wit:
a) Direct Print from Sibelius
b) Sibelius to PDF via distiller
c) Pagemaker direct to printer
All the above print the Cyrillic just fine.
So somehow the encoding/font info is being lost ONLY if Pagemaker creates a PDF.
This does not seem to be as simple as not finding a font - have read and tried all relevant FAQs. Have tried all options of embedding/not embedding fonts in the various programs.
Thanks

PM7 does not handle Opentype fonts. It sees only the first 256 characters.
See "FAQ 5.8 - OpenType / Unicode fonts"

You need a Type1 or TT Cyrillic font, or, (and I'm getting to sound like Bob)
move to InDesign which handles 0pentype fonts (beautifully and without a
problem).

Pass! Because the font is embedded in the EPS file?

Are you using Export… AdobePDF…?
If so, try the two stage process of creating a *.ps file and then distilling
that.
