Hello,

I work for a school newspaper and I am having problems with Pagemaker saving and printing. When we attempt to save, we are getting errors telling us that the drive is full, but after checking the drive, we have over 3 Gig available. Also, While trying to print, we are getting a HyperContent Manager error. this makes it impossible to backup our work in any way, shape, or form.

Any help would be appreciated. thank you.

Hi, Chad,

Which version of PM and windows are you using?
Is the PC networked?

> having problems with Pagemaker saving

Check this FAQ - Donald Gruener "2.1 - Can't Save in PageMaker 7.01" 4/19/02 11:53am </cgi-bin/webx?14@@.ef80761/0> Does it help?

> we are getting a HyperContent Manager error

What is the EXACT error message? Copy and paste it into your message.

Thanks for the advice, but it didn't change anything :(.

Here is the exact message.

HyperContent Manager Error
Parameters Incorrect

7801:7702

That is the message I am getting when I try to quit out, and it asks me if I want to save. I click yes and it gives me that message.

The other save error is occuring when I just try to save as. It tells me that the drive is full, even though it has 3.07 GB left.

Cannot Save:
Disk Full
8014:0099

For the background information, here goes...

WE are using an XP and Win98 system that are both not working. The version of pagemaker is 7.0.

the PC is networked through the school. That may be the problem, I am having the school check that as well... Thank you again for your help.

Well that's got me beaten - Google draws a blank too.

This page in the PM KB may help: Troubleshooting System Errors and Freezes in PageMaker 7.x for Windows <http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/2f01a.htm>

> WE are using an XP and Win98 system that are both not working

Not working? Does that mean there's a fault or it's been wholly disconnected?
PM is not happy with less than a rock solid network - see this FAQ: Donald Gruener "7.2 - Network Issues" 1/19/02 10:13am </cgi-bin/webx?14@@.ef63454/0>

Are you working 100% locally, i.e. PM is installed in on a local drive, the PageMaker *.PMD file is stored and opened from a local drive, and all the images and imported files are stored locally?

On which version of Windows is PM7 being used WinXP or Win98?
How many fonts do you have active? - PM becomes unstable if there's more than about 150.

Sorry about the confusion there... what I meant was that we are having that problem on both version of Windows. Both are running the PM 7.0. Both Windows are running just fine, it is just the

Hmm... we aren't completely contained locally though. the pagemaker files and the pictures we placed are all on a network drive. The pM program is local though. I will try suggesting that we run everything off of the hard disk though.

I can't try to fix it until tomorrow. If it doesn't work, I will post back, and if it does, I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate the help.

Thanks again,
Chad

Hi, Chad,

As Lyn says. Get everything local if the network is less than 100% reliable. Read about it in the FAQ on PM and Networks: Donald Gruener "7.2 - Network Issues" 1/19/02 10:13am </cgi-bin/webx?14@@.ef63454/0>
