When attempting to export to PDF from PageMaker I receive an error message reading: Error creating Acrobat Printer Style. And, of course PGMK freezes. Full version of Acrobat 5 is installed. Running System 8.6. Is this a PGMK, Acrobat, PPD or System problem?
Thanks

We have a related question. When we create a PDF in Pagemaker 6.5 the images jump from their original position on the page to another place. How do we fix that?

Similar problem. I have PageMaker 6.5 and Acrobat 4.0. I have used both the PDF printer and Distiller 3.01 to attempt to convert from PageMaker to PDF. Distiller seems to work a little better but I always get missing data, whole or half pages that are just blank. Doesn't seem to matter whether I'm doing one page at a time or twenty. All running on OS9.1 G3 with 128 MB ram. Suggestions?

I have a pdf problem also. I have been turning files into books and then (in this specific case) I have tried exporting them directly to pdf and also printing them to postscript and then distilling to pdf. Mostly it works fine. I have a problem right now with two files where the type is doing bizarre things. Strange spacing and weird overlapping type. I have run the internal diagnostic repair utility on the "problem file" and each time it beeps twice and then beeps only once when I run the diagnostic a second time. I do a "save as" and I figure it is fixed. NOT. The file is still acting strangely and my pdf looks terrible. Any suggestions??

Oh, and if I export the single "problem file" to pdf it works fine. It is only when I ask it to be part of a "book" that it explodes.

I have also deleted my PM65ppd.cnf to reset the defaults. What else can I do??

P don't know I've never had the problem.

Now i don't use PM any more.

It could be an extension conflict, try optimizing the disks, run norton or DiskWarrior, Rebuild the desk top.

Have you tried making pdf files and then booking them with Acrobat? Sounds like a crazy conflict or a font problem.

I can insert the one pdf file into the other pdf file, the problem then is that I lose all my bookmarks. They don't carry over.

I just ran Norton, nothing there. I have even reduced the number of fonts open so that there won't be a conflict. No help there either.

Just out of curiosity, make some new files and try this procedure.

I am running PM 7.01 with OSX. When opening a document, OS 9.2.1 opens and then the PM document. I want to conver the file to a pdf, and so go to the chooser and selelce Adobe PS; return to the "Export" -- Adobe PDF menu. When I attempt to export to PDF, things seem to process smoothly, but then I get the following message: "...error in the PostScript file." I have placed tiff files into PM documents (with not text) and am able to creat a pdf. Help

PageMaker is not carbonized. It doesn't even run too well in Classic mode. Boot in 9.2 and try again.
