I have narrowed down the problem i believe, i had a test page that had fonts, tiff images, and squares that had the standard colors applied to them. Then when i changed the tiff image to a Pantone 294 uncoated i got a post script error and it would not print the file? Has anyone had any problems like this before?

Is the problem with just that color? or all pantone colors?

Is it a spot color? rgb? cmyk? (what is the model for it in the new color dialog box)

Change it from CMYK to spot this should solve the problem.

the printer is getting confused you have a grayscale and you are applying CMYK to it.

It is CMYK, and it is a problem with all the pantone colors we use. Could it be a printer driver?

Type should be spot
model CMYK

Do you have color management on or off I'd turn it off.

Have you done system maintanence recently?

I'm puzzled.

When i go to print, and i select the color tab in the print menu, and under where the composite feature is selected, the only choices i have are greyscale and print colors in black. It does not give me a color option on most of my documents. But i know a few of my documents i have seen the color option before, maybe that has something to do with it. Or do you know how to get the option to print in color back? does it only give us greyscale because we have a greyscale tiff in there? I'm am quite puzzled myself.

WE have resolved our problem with it not being able to print tiff images. The printer firmware needed to be updated. Now that we got that settled, when we go to print a document with our haftone tiff images it takes the negative of the document and prints that. So what is light is dark and what is dark is light. But if there are no tiffs in the document it prints out just fine. Is there something in my color settings when i print? or is it my laserJet printer?
