Data Merge and bleed

I have been successful in merging a csv file into my indesign layout in the past, although this time around I need bleed in my layout.
As an overview:
- I create the document in the final layout size with bleed guides
- I create the merge using multiple records
- When I preview the merge the images move away from the bleed guides.
Is there another method in creating a data merge document with bleed which I am unaware of?
