I'm using InDesign CS3.0.1 with XP and I'm just beginning with it. I feel stupid, but I can't seem to find the bullet/numbering list button everyone talks about. It's not on the paragraph formatting palatte...
please help a newbie.
thanks

The buttons are available in the "Control Panel" (part of the paragraph formatting controls) and the "Command Bar".

The Paragraph panel menu also provides access to "Bullets and Numbering...", as do Paragraph Style Options

I had the same problem when I started using Indesign. Was so use to it
being a main icon in programs. I use:

type > Bullet & Numbered List > Apply Bullets

Or
type > Bullet & Numbered List > Apply Numbers

This is what is confusing me. When I double click on the paragraph mark beside the paragraph style, it brings up the "new paragraph style" box. (Like one I've seen in various screenshots). Trouble is, in the version I have (cs 3.0.1???), there is no tab for bullets and numbering. The categories on the left are:
general
basic character formats
advanced character formats
indents and spacing
tabs
paragraph rules
keep options
hypenation
justification
drop caps and nested styles
character color
opentype features
underline options
strikethrough options

What am I missing? Sorry to be thick!

The bullet functions were not available in CS. They were included in the PageMaker function add-on. This is no longer
available. The only way to go is to upgrade. You are currently two versions behind.

Did you buy the suite? If so, open the case and see if you have a CD
labeled Pagemaker Plugins. It wasn't included in the original release so
it may or may not be there.

Thank you for the responses. Yes, I did buy the program in a suite and the plugin was on another cd, so the problem has been solved! TYSM!
